These terms govern the public website. Paid certification, verification, monitoring, corporate-support and partner services require separate written engagement terms. If there is a conflict, the signed engagement terms prevail for that service.
1. About us
This website is operated by BUSINESS CERTIFICATION BUREAU LTD (“BCB”, “we”, “us” or “our”), company number 17254091, with registered office at 1 Schrier Ropeworks, Arboretum Place, London, United Kingdom, IG11 7FL.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you use the website for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to act for it. If you do not agree, do not use the website.
3. Website information
Website content is general commercial information. It is not legal, tax, accounting, investment, credit, financial or regulatory advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice addressing your circumstances.
4. No service engagement through browsing or enquiry
Visiting the website, submitting a form, receiving an automated acknowledgement or discussing possible work does not create a client relationship or oblige BCB to accept an application. A service begins only when BCB issues written engagement terms, completes required onboarding and confirms acceptance.
5. Certification meaning
A BCB certificate confirms only that the named entity completed the stated BCB private review standard within the stated scope and validity period. It does not:
- constitute government or regulator approval;
- guarantee solvency, creditworthiness, lawful future conduct or commercial performance;
- guarantee onboarding, funding, procurement or transaction approval;
- replace the recipient's own due diligence, legal obligations or professional judgement; or
- cover matters outside the stated trust level and scope.
6. Certificate verification
The live verification record, when operational, is authoritative over a printed or downloaded copy. Users must check the entity identity, certificate number, scope, dates and current status. A certificate may be suspended, expire or be revoked.
7. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, scrape personal data, impersonate another person, submit false evidence, falsify a certificate, circumvent verification controls, interfere with availability or use BCB branding in a misleading way.
8. Intellectual property and BCB mark
Unless stated otherwise, BCB or its licensors own the website content, design, methodology materials and original graphics. BCB is registered in the United Kingdom under trade mark number UK00004411240. You may view and print reasonable extracts for internal lawful use. You may not reproduce, sell, frame, white-label, alter a trust mark or create derivative commercial materials without written permission.
9. Third-party links
Links to registries, public authorities or other sites are provided for convenience. BCB does not control or endorse their content and is not responsible for their availability, security or terms.
10. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or withdraw website features without notice. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may update these terms by publishing a revised effective date.
11. Liability
Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, BCB excludes implied warranties concerning this free public website and is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, goodwill, anticipated savings or data arising from website use.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Notice explains how we process personal data. The Cookie Notice explains local storage and cookies.
13. Severability and waiver
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver.
14. Governing law and courts
These terms and non-contractual disputes are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory law gives an individual consumer a different right.
15. Contact
